How It Started…

Bob and Cynthia Jeffries opened Jeffries Wood Works in 1987 as a custom millwork shop. Over time, Jeffries developed a large and diverse inventory of kiln dried hardwood lumber to work from. They opened that inventory to the public, understanding that other woodworkers needed to be able to select high-grade lumber for their projects as well. This served a diverse group of makers, from boat builders, to luthiers, cabinet shops, schools, and individuals. As the years went by, Bob and Cynthia phased out milling and focused on lumber sales exclusively. Currently, no product is made at all, and only a limited amount of stock prep is done.

How It’s Going…

After serving their customers and friends for over 35 years, Bob and Cynthia officially retired and passed the torch to the Caulder family in 2023. Like so many, Jason Caulder was a customer of Jeffries Wood Works for years and loved visiting “the candy shop” as often as he could. When the opportunity came to take his passion full-time, it took minimal persuasion to talk his brother Mitchell into being his partner. You can now find the two of them and their families striving to keep Jeffries as special as it always has been and continuing to provide the service and product everyone is used to receiving.
